Position Summary
This position is responsible to lead the production workers and organize the daily production line activities. The incumbent is also responsible for operating production machinery, ensuring materials used for production and products made are within quality expectations, reporting daily operation to Production Management Team and relaying Company policies and decisions to production workers.
Major Accountabilities
Production Operation
- Conducts start up check and routine inspection to minimize machinery downtime and product wastage.
- Understands all aspects of product manufacturing, including ingredient preparation, proper production methods and quality standards
- Ensures that all equipments are operating in a smooth, safe and efficient manner.
- Reviews daily production schedule, bean loading plan, and manpower schedule.
- Performs minor repairs such as replacing sealing plates or gaskets. Ensures that machine parts are protected from water and moisture.
- Stops production when product quality is in doubt and reports problems to Production Management Team, Quality Assurance Manager and Maintenance Manager as soon as possible.
- Provides assistance to maintenance technician during emergency repairs if necessary.
Labor Supervision
- Provides training to workers. Monitors workers’ performance to ensure that they comply with Company policies and the production standards are met.
- Provides guidance and instructions for workers to ensure that they understand their daily assignments.
- Works with Production Foreman and other lead hands to ensure the correct balance of resources for all production lines.
- Adheres to Employment Standards regulations in scheduling coffee, lunch and dinner breaks for workers in such a manner that there is a minimum disruption to production operation.
- Resolves worker conflict and reports repeated offenders to production Foreman immediately so that follow up actions can be taken.
Communication
- Ensures that daily production reports, raw materials usage records and operational control records are filled out clearly and completely. Clearly logs all problems encountered and production delays in the report.
- Reports any raw materials shortage to the Production Management Team.
- Interprets and relays to workers the Company’s policies, direction and decisions.
- Acts as a liaison between Production Management Team and production workers.
Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Product Quality
- Ensures that all equipments are all properly sanitized as GMP required before production starts.
- Inspects raw materials prior to production to ensure correct standard and quality.
- Promotes, follows and enforces GMP in production floor.

Working Conditions
¡P Work is mainly performed in the production plant (95 %) and some work may be in office setting (5%).
¡P Permanent Full-Time position. Shift rotation (AM & PM) and flexible work hours to meet Production requirements
Job Specifications
Formal Education
High school completion or equivalent.
Related Experience
Minimum 1 year production supervisory experience.

l Able to communicate and write in English
l Able to speak Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese) a definite asset. Ability to write/type in Chinese an asset.
