Position Title : Quality Control Technician
Term : Part Time
Location : Vancouver
Position Summary
The Quality Control Technician is responsible for overseeing the quality of products, ensuring plant sanitation and worker’s hygiene.
Major Position Accountabilities
1. Performs on-line production checks for product temperature, weight, sensory, and texture, including packaging.
2. Inspects batches of finished products to ensure consistency and quality.
3. Performs microbiology tests and monitors plant sanitation checks.
4. Generates quality control reports/records for the Quality Assurance Manager.
5. Enforces quality control policies for production workers and performs personal hygiene checks.
6. Ensures production processes meet specifications.
7. Titrate and monitor the concentration of the cleaning chemicals and sanitizers.
8. Calibrate and maintain lab’s equipment.
9. Prepares ingredients for production.
10. Performs other duties or projects as assigned by supervisor.
Working Conditions
l Works in a laboratory setting and in the manufacturing plant
l Works 8 work hours a day, with 0.5 hour meal break & 15 minute coffee break
l Shift work - Must be able to work on weekends and night shift
Job Specifications
Formal Education
University degree or diploma in Food Science or Microbiology
Other Requirements
l Good interpersonal and communication skills
l Detail-oriented
l Strong time management and organization skills
l Self starter, self discipline, ability to work under minimal supervision
l Ability to understand oral and written Chinese a definite asset
l Basic computer skills (Word & Excel)
