HR Administrator

(Temporary Full-time; Maternity Leave Coverage)

The Human Resources Administrator, under the direction of the HR Manager is primarily responsible to provide support for the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources function for our Vancouver location. This role will be committed to working with the HR team to improve workplace culture and employee performance through involvement in recruitment and retention initiatives including but not limited to strategic recruitment, auditing and improving our HR documentation system and supporting the design and implementation of employee and supervisory training.


  • Lead recruitment activities by tracking vacancies, posting jobs on a variety of job boards, and vetting candidates for final interviews and selection by hiring managers.
  • Coordinate the on-boarding and orientation for new hires through pre-hire communication, managing start dates and access to training, and the processing of new hire documentation.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies and procedures, identifies and/or resolves potential grievances, counsels’ employees on work-related and personal issues.
  • Using established templates, draft a variety of employment agreements and letters.
  • Support Performance Management Reviews, including preparation of analysis, forms, and distribution of employee letters.
  • Objectively investigate and support the Company in addressing employee relations issues, including those related to compliance and performance.
  • Prepare necessary paperwork to support management in issuing counselling or corrective action letters.
  • Assist with benefits administration including enrolling, removing and changing employee’s benefits status.
  • Maintain human resources records by recording new hires, transfers, terminations, changes in job classifications, merit increases, tracking vacation, sick, and personal time.
  • Conduct employee exit interviews and other HR related requests from the management team.
  • Assist in the visitor sign-in process and update visitors’ record as needed.
  • Manage office supplies by maintaining an inventory of items and assist in ordering/reordering ensuring sufficient stock of supplies.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by HR Manager.


  • Must have either a 1-year Human Resources Certificate, a 2-year Human Resources Diploma or equivalent experience.
  • 2 – 4 years of relevant work experience
  • General knowledge of human resources principles and guidelines.
  • Excellent judgment and discretion in managing highly sensitive and confidential information from a Company and employee perspective.
  • Highly skilled at making objective and fact-based balanced recommendations for management consideration.
  • Highly efficient administrator, with commitment to providing effective service to all internal customers.
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Keen attention to detail, while at the same time, ability to keep big picture in mind.
  • Good verbal and written English language skills. 
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Detail oriented and ability to work well under pressure and with minimal supervision.


  • Full-time (40 hours per week) Contract position for 1 year maternity leave coverage.
  • Work is performed primarily in office environment
  • Regular office hours Monday- Friday from 8:30am-5:00pm
