THE POSITION
The Shipper/Receiver, under the direction of the Warehouse Supervisor, will primarily be responsible to ensure customer orders are picked accurately and safety loaded onto trucks as scheduled. The incumbent is also responsible to receive raw materials, components, finished goods, maintenance supplies as required and utilize WMS for all receiving activities in addition to supporting the production lines as needed.

JOB DUTIES
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures and standards for people safety, food safety, quality, cost control, waste reduction and complete and on-time delivery
- Promotes and follows all company and regulatory standards, including but not limited to; Occupational Health and Safety (OHS), Food Safety, Safe Operating Procedures (SOP’s), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS)
- Adhere to established safe working procedures and wear the proper safety PPE at all times
- Perform daily safety checks on all applicable equipment and tools
- Report all safety concerns to a member of your Joint Health and Safety Committee and your Supervisor/Manager
- Ensures all orders are picked accurately and timely in order to meet scheduled delivery times.
- Ensures all orders are stable, properly labeled and shrink-wrapped in addition to any other customer requirements to prevent damages during transit.
- Inspect and verify shipped goods for both incoming and outgoing items prior to signing off; reject damaged goods
- Track shipments and verify receipts of shipments as required
- Provides prompt and courteous customer service to all customers (both internal and external) and carriers.
- Assists the Warehouse Supervisor and plant employees in other warehouse functions as required, including but not limited to: production & vendor receiving, verifying outgoing/completed shipments, generating shipping documents, transferring of raw materials and components from the warehouse to production and use of the Navision system (WMS).
- Operates warehouse material handling equipment in a safe manner.
- Assists in maintaining a clean and organized warehouse.
- Reports observations of any deviation to the process/procedure or a defect or non-conformance to the product which may result in a situation requiring food safety assessment, and reports any damage or deviation to warehouse equipment and property.
- Works in a professional and cooperative manner with all departments of the plant to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of all plant processes and procedures.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by Supervisor or Manager.

REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year of related warehousing experience
- Excellent customer service skills
- Good verbal and written English language skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Self-starter
- Basic computer skills with ability to learn WMS system and use scanners/software in daily job functions as required
- Detail oriented and ability to work well under pressure and with minimal supervision.
- Good mathematical skills
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Permanent Full-time position (40 hours per week)
- Works in the warehouse, including cooler environment and also outdoor conditions depending upon tasks as required
- Flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays as required to meet business needs
- Wearing of company provided Uniform and other Personal Protective Equipment is required as applicable
