JOB SUMMARY 

The Maintenance Manager, reporting to the Plant Manager, oversees all maintenance activities at the facility. This role is responsible for managing resources and assets, directing cost-effective maintenance operations, ensuring equipment reliability, and proactively reducing downtime. The Maintenance Manager supervises and develops maintenance staff, builds strong relationships across departments, and ensures alignment with plant priorities to foster a transparent and equitable work environment.

JOB DUTIES

• Leadership: Drive compliance with company standards in safety, quality, and productivity; support a collaborative work environment.
• Maintenance Oversight: Manage daily maintenance operations, develop and maintain preventive maintenance schedules, and oversee capital expenditure projects in coordination with the Plant Manager.
• People Development: Lead, train, and evaluate maintenance team members, ensuring effective delegation and performance.
• Collaboration: Work closely with departments like Production, Quality Assurance, and Corporate Maintenance to ensure smooth, safe, and efficient plant operations.
• Data Analysis: Identify downtime causes, develop improvement strategies, and manage inventory for spare parts and tools.

REQUIREMENTS

• Post-secondary education in a related field or equivalent experience. 
• 3-5 years in a maintenance role within a manufacturing environment. 
• Certifications as an Industrial Electrician, Boiler Operator, or Millwright (or relevant experience); PLC programming skills are a plus. 
• Proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with CMMS software is an asset. 
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Full-time, permanent position with flexible hours based on production needs. 
• Combination of office and production floor work (60% office, 40% production). 
• Requires ladder climbing, kneeling, operating mobile equipment, and managing a noisy, temperature-variable environment. 
• Availability for overtime and emergency calls as needed.
